La vie en rose letra ingles
The lyrics of this song talk about a man she is in love with and the sensations she gets when she embraces her love, or when she whispers “words of love” to him and how all this makes her “sorrows go away”.
American singer Donna Summer made La vie en rose in 1993 for the tribute album Tribute to Édith Piaf, released in France and the United States, in which several contemporary stars recorded renditions of some of Edith Piaf’s best-known songs.
Released on both vinyl and CD, the American version of the album and single contain a different mix of the synthesizer-based versions and the French version. These versions are among the most sought after by Summer collectors.
La vie en rose lyrics french
Édith Giovanna Gassion (Paris, December 19, 1915-Plascassier, Grasse, Alpes-Maritimes, October 10, 1963), known by her stage name Édith Piaf,[1] was one of the most famous French singers of the twentieth century.
She came into contact with composer Raymond Asso (author of Mon légionnaire and Le Fanion de la Légion, songs created by Marie Dubas in 1935, which Piaf took up again in early 1937). Asso becomes her Pygmalion and lover, and prepares her to become a professional singer in the Music Hall.
In the spring of 1944 she performs at the Moulin Rouge, where the young music hall singer Yves Montand is an important part of the show. The two artists fell in love and Édith Piaf introduced him to the most important people in the show business at the time: Joseph Kosma, Henri Crolla, Loulou Gasté, Jean Guigo, Henri Contet, Louiguy, Marguerite Monnot, Bob Castella, Francis Lemarque…
During the war, Édith Piaf sang in clubs and music halls, and helped prisoners to escape. After the war, in 1945, she wrote the lyrics of La vie en rose, her most famous song, which she performed at the Comédie-Française.
