Since it was not easy for him to communicate with others, he chose the path of art to express his feelings. The themes he dealt with at that time were those related to miners and peasants, for whom he felt a great sympathy, as they were hard-working and suffering people.
Vincent liked to copy nature, but -as he said- “he could not agree with it”. So he chose to create his own nature using his colors and his imagination. However, it could be said that Van Gogh was more interested in atmosphere than in nature. Capturing in his paintings the transparency of the air, the particles of light, became his greatest ambition.
Shortly thereafter he was admitted to the hospital of Arles and later to the asylum of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, near Saint-Remy. In May 1890 he returned to Paris and settled in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver. Subsequently, the posthumous recognition for which he had fought so hard came upon him. His brother Theo only survived him by 6 months.

Paul Jackson Pollock (/ˈpɒlək/ Cody, Wyoming; January 28, 1912-Springs, New York; August 11, 1956), better known as Jackson Pollock, was an influential American painter and leading artist of Abstract Expressionism. Pollock achieved recognition for his style of dripping paint (dripping).
In 1930 (following in the footsteps of his older brother Charles Pollock) he moved to New York where he studied with his brother and under the tutelage of painter Thomas Hart Benton at the Art Students League of New York. Benton’s conversations about rural America had little influence on Pollock, yet his rhythmic use of paint and fierce independence marked the artist.[2] From 1938 to 1942, during the Great Depression, Pollock worked for the Federal Art Project Works Progress Administration.[6] Pollock was a member of the Federal Art Project Works Progress Administration.[7] Pollock was a member of the Federal Art Project Works Progress Administration from 1938 to 1942.
Trying to deal with his alcoholism problem, Pollock underwent Jungian psychotherapy with Dr. Joseph L. Henderson between 1938 and 1941 and later with Dr. Violet Staub de Laszlo in 1941-1942. Henderson hooked him through his art, encouraging him to draw pictures. Jungian concepts and archetypes were expressed in his paintings.[7][8] Recently, some historians have suggested that it is possible that Pollock suffered from bipolar disorder.[9] The artist’s work is also known to have been influenced by his own personal experiences.

No one appreciated the fundamental fact that Guardiola is the son of a palette artist. His father, Valentí, represents for him an example of integrity and effort. The family in which he grew up, in the town of Santpedor, has instilled in him old-fashioned values, from when parents had neither money nor property to pass on to their children, but only principles and dignity. When it comes to judging or studying Guardiola, one must bear in mind that underneath the elegant suit, the cashmere sweater and the chosen tie is the son of a redneck. That inside the expensive Italian shoes there is a heart in espadrilles.

Mary Stevenson Cassatt (May 22, 1844-June 14, 1926) was an American painter and printmaker. Although born in Pennsylvania, she spent much of her adult life in France, where she formed a friendship with Edgar Degas and joined the Impressionist movement. Cassatt primarily painted images depicting the social and private lives of women, with special emphasis on the bonds between them and their children.
Cassatt traveled to Chicago to try her luck, however she lost some of her paintings in the great Chicago fire of 1871.[19]Soon after, her work attracted the attention of the Archbishop of Pittsburgh, who asked her for two copies of Correggio in Parma, Italy, providing her with enough money to travel and cover her expenses. Excitedly she wrote: “how happy I am to be able to work, my fingers itch and my eyes water to see a good painting again.”[20]With Emily Sartain, an artist from a good American family, Cassatt returned to Europe.
Mary Cassatt insisted, despite her father’s presence, on covering studio expenses with her sales, which remained meager. Fearful that she would have to end up painting mediocre but easily sold works to make ends meet, she applied herself to creating quality works destined for the next Impressionist exhibition. Three of his most important works in 1878 were Portrait of the Artist (self-portrait), Little Girl in a Blue Armchair and Reading Le Figaro (portrait of his mother).
