Laguna negra la rioja
Picos de urbiónmountain range in spain
Located in the town of Vinuesa, province of Soria, La Laguna Negra is a lagoon of glacial origin. As we commented in the previous post of Navaleno, we are going to tell how was our experience climbing to the Laguna Negra de Soria.
☞ One of the most beautiful places in the province of Soria is the Natural Park of the Sierra de Urbión and the Laguna Negra, in the north of the province. It is located almost 2 thousand meters above sea level between landscapes of endless pine forests and granite walls, thus giving a dark, enigmatic and fascinating aspect to the lagoon.
You have to take the N-234 road to Cidones, and there take the detour to the right towards Vinuesa. In this town you will already start to see signs indicating the way to the lagoon, through the valley of Revinuesa, among tall wild pines. Undoubtedly, the landscape does not leave indifferent. It is one of the most important natural tourist places of the peninsula.
From the lagoon, bordering the road we reached the waterfall. We were lucky and we could see it with flow, since in some seasons it can be found dry or frozen. Climbing among the rocks you always get the best panoramic views.

Where to eat near the Laguna NegraI recommend that you try especially the meat: mmmm, how delicious the lamb chops! Also the sausage and one of the greatest specialties of the area and Soria: mushrooms. There are many varieties, although the most typical and delicious ones are the mushrooms, and the torreznos de Soria deserve a special mention. These are the restaurants that I recommend in the area of the Laguna Negra (Juanra and his parents told me about them, so they are good recommendations):

Black lagoon soria
This dark, fascinating and enigmatic lagoon, shrouded in legends, is one of the most beautiful places in the province. Of glacial origin, embedded at an altitude of 2,000 meters, between granite walls and bordered by endless pine forests, give this lagoon its dark and gloomy appearance.
The Black Lagoon is located only 50 kilometers away from the capital. To get there, take the N-234 towards Burgos to the town of Cidones. At the end of the village, we will take the detour to the right towards Vinuesa. Near this town we will see the signs that will indicate the way to access the Laguna Negra through the charming Valley of Revinuesa between wild pines of good size and height.
