Salto del nervion orduña
Orduña-urduñamunicipality in spain
Does the Salto del Nervión have water? This is the million dollar question, the most repeated phrase among people who are planning to visit this enclave that concerns us today. Unfortunately, at present, there is no webcam through which we can see the amount of water that has the Salto del Nervión, one of the most important factors when visiting this incredible waterfall. But in the absence of such tools, good is the information that our readers send us. We recommend exploring social networks to check the state of this emblematic corner of Euskadi. Nothing better than the photos shared by our users, information in real time and very truthful, little more we can ask for.

The Nervion River rises in Monte Santiago and forms, near its mouth with the estuary of Bilbao, the spectacular Salto del Nervion, with a peculiar shape of a horse tail and about 222 meters high.
The most ideal times to visit this magical place are in seasons of high rainfall and thaw. In these dates is when more water flows through the waterfall and we can see the waterfall in its fullness. Even so, if we decide to go in summer, for example, although there is not much water, the views of the valley have nothing to envy to the waterfall.
From the viewpoint we can enjoy spectacular views with the family and spend the day in nature. Along the route there are covered spaces available to rest and picnic areas near the parking lot where you can stop to eat. Alternatively, there are nearby restaurants in the area, if we want to save on food preparation.
Other very interesting areas to visit around Monte Santiago are the loberas. The most famous are those of Gibijo, Monte Santiago and San Miguel. These curious constructions allow us to see firsthand how wolves were hunted in the past by means of two funnel-shaped walls that end in a pit where the animal was trapped. There are also alternative routes to explore the fauna and flora of Monte Santiago.

1.-Leaving the car in the first parking lot: At the moment they are NOT charging for access to the parking lots closest to the Salto del Nervión, but in the past they did, so this option was the most economical, although then we have to face a slightly longer walk. The price for parking in the parking lots closest to the Salto del Nervión was about 3€ per car (they charged only per car, regardless of the people in the car).
